"Carlo Ancelotti lied to me, don't believe the managers!"

The Norwegian striker is angry that he "lied" to Carlo Ancelotti, who signed with Real Madrid.

Joshua King, who signed for Everton in February 2021, accused his manager Carlo Ancelotti of lying to him.

The 29-year-old striker reached a short-term deal with Everton during the interim transfer window following the expiration of his contract with Bournemouth.

With 53 goals for Bournemouth, 48 of which were in the Premier League, King was expected to be successful at Merseyside, but only appeared as a substitute in 11 games under Ancelotti.

Speaking to Dagbladet, King, when asked if the Italian coach had lied to him when signing for Everton, replied:

"Yes, I believe Ancelotti is lying."

"That's the football world. That's what happens when you get to the top of the real world. But I don't regret going to Everton."

"Yes, he lied to me. But there are no honest people in football anyway. Except for the players. I've never had a relationship with Ancelotti."

"When I was offered an offer, I never thought I would be allowed to take part in 18 games once."

King, who is now free, says he doesn't regret going to Everton:

"I don't regret it. They didn't take a chance, if I had played and my performance hadn't been good I would have understood."

"I got an offer where I'd get a lot more chances, but I was told I could play for Everton."

"Don't trust managers who promise you something and tell you they're going to play it."
