Harry Maguire: I thought we were kidnapped

After a fight in an entertainment venue in Greece, Manchester United's captain Harry Maguire broke his silence.

Manchester United's captain, Harry Maguire, was convicted of allegations of physical assault, resisting police, and offering bribery after a fight at a recreational area on the Greek island of Mykonos.

Maguire, who did not attend the hearing due to his trial without arrest, made statements about what happened in his interview with the BBC.

The English footballer explained the incident as follows, stating that he was worried about his life:

"Two men approached my sister. They asked her where she was from, my brother answered. Then my fiancee saw my brother come running out of breath."

"I thought we were kidnapped. We got down on our knees, we raised our hands. Then he hit my leg and said, 'Your career is over, you won't be able to play football again.

"I don't think I owe an apology to anyone. Apologies, beg when you do something wrong. I'm just sorry for putting the club and our fans in this situation."
