“I turned down Real Madrid for Juventus”

The Italian coach turned down the offer from the Spanish giant to return to Juventus.

Massimiliano Allegri, who took charge of Juventus for the second time in his career, announced that he missed the opportunity to coach Real Madrid in order to return to his old team.

Allegri was the coach of Juventus from 2014 to 2019. Maurizio Sarri and Andrea Pirlo, who took office afterwards, gave performances that fell behind the Allegri period.

Real Madrid, which lost the La Liga championship to Atletico last season, parted ways with Zinedine Zidane. Although the Spanish team made a serious offer to Allegri, the 53-year-old coach took on the task of carrying Juventus back to the top of Serie A.

Juventus' nine-year championship streak came to an end in the 2020/21 season, with Inter taking the lead.
