Losing coach Julian Nagelsmann to Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig brought the American Jesse Marsch to head the team.
Marsch, 47, who previously coached Montreal Impact, New York Red Bulls and Red Bull Salzburg, also served as assistant coach at RB Leipzig in the 2018/19 season.
Brian Brobbey, whom RB Leipzig agreed with Ajax for the transfer in March, almost gave up on coming to Germany due to the change of coach.
Convinced to play for RB Leipzig after meeting with Marsch, the 19-year-old player made an interesting confession about his new coach in an interview with Bild.
“When it was announced that Jesse would head the team, I first checked who it was online. I was wondering what kind of football he was playing, then when I was in Salzburg, I saw his speech in the match against Liverpool."
“The situation was a little strange, because Nagelsmann had said he would stay. But we had a nice chat with Jesse. He is a very good trainer. Now we talk every day. I am happy to be here.”
“I have to work hard every day and show myself to the coach. He will decide who to play. But I want to be an important player for the team.”
