Chelsea star Kai Havertz has responded to a question about the transfer fee paid to him after he scored the Champions League-winning goal against Manchester City on Saturday.
Towards the end of the first half, the German national player moved to the back of the defense with the excellent pass of Mason Mount and managed to hunt the goalkeeper Ederson.
The goal won Chelsea the Champions League trophy and helped Havertz justify the $95 million paid for him.
Speaking to BT Sport after the match, Havertz said the following about the high transfer fee paid to him and about the trophy:
"I don't care, we won the Champions League. I don't know what to say. I really don't know what to say. I waited a long time.
“Now I want to thank my family, my parents, my grandmother and my girlfriend. I don't know what to say.
"I waited 15 years for this moment, and now it's here."
Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta also added:
“Havertz was very calm. Not only that. He runs like crazy! That's why he deserves it.
"I came here after the Champions League victory in 2012. I wanted to repeat that Champions League success. It's incredible. My family is here. It's a special, special day."
