Steve McManaman, a former footballer who wore both Liverpool and Manchester City jerseys, spoke to BBC Radio 5 Live.
Manchester City became the first team to reach triple digits in the Premier League history as the champion with 100 points in the 2017-18 season.
In addition to ending the Reds' 30-year league longing, McManaman said he wanted to break this record of Manchester City, the closest rivals and champion of the last 2 seasons:
"The league records of both teams are outstanding. Liverpool will be the best with this season's success, while both want to be the winner of the championship race."
"Liverpool will start with a great match first. Since this will be a derby, they will have to get started right away."
"I think they're thinking," We have 9 games left now, we want to break Manchester City's record. "
