Liverpools stats scare Sadio Mane

The Senegalese star's long-standing reticence could spell trouble for Liverpool in the title race.

Mohamed Salah, who shouldered the team's goal load with his incredible performance this season, made Liverpool one of the most assertive teams in the Premier League once again.

Liverpool, which is in the second place in the league, managed to surpass the leader Manchester City in the number of goals with 48 goals scored in 17 games.

Salah has a direct contribution in 24 of the 48 goals. The Egyptian star, who has not missed a match in the league yet, is having one of the best seasons of his career with 15 goals and nine assists.

Although he is not among the nominees for FIFA's 11 of the Year, there is no doubt that Salah is one of the best players in the world right now.

On the other side of the medal, there is the worrying decline of Sadio Mane in the last period. The Senegalese, who has been one of Liverpool's most stable names for many years, has not scored or assisted in seven games.

Mane, who also missed the Newcastle United match, repeated the longest series in his Liverpool career where he could not contribute a goal. Mane also failed to score or assist in seven consecutive matches in the 2018/19 season.

The Senegalese scored four goals in 11 games against Newcastle, but were unable to assist. Among the opponents Mane has faced at least eight times, he not only has assists against Newcastle.
