Pepe, who was in the top 11 against Belgium, made history at Euro 2020

Portugal's experienced defender Pepe has written his name in the history of the European Championship.

Pepe, who started in the first 11 in Portugal's match against Belgium in the last 16 round, went through the star-filled history of the European Championship.

The star of the defense became the oldest player in the history of the cup to play in the qualifying rounds excluding goalkeepers, with 38 years and 121 days.

The experienced player, who has not worn out for years, has been the backbone of the Portuguese defense for a long time.

The 38-year-old player appeared in the European Championship for the fourth time in his career. Pepe was in the Portuguese squad in Euro 2020 as well as Euro 2008, Euro 2012 and Euro 2016.

Pepe remained on the field for 120 minutes while Portugal defeated France in the Euro 2016 final and reached the championship.

Pepe played 18 matches in the European Championships and eight matches in the World Cups with the Portuguese national team.

Pepe, who made his debut for Portugal against Finland on 21 November 2007, represented his country 118 times at the A national level.
