Transferring from Borussia Dortmund to Arsenal in 2018, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang managed to stay at the club permanently and is now captain of the London team.
But the Gabonese star could have signed to Tottenham Hotspur before coming to Arsenal.
Aubameyang admitted that he nearly signed to Tottenham years ago and has announced that he would rather retire than play for the Spurs.
"Would you rather retire or play for Tottenham?" the striker told Sky Sports. He answered the question as follows:
“You don't need to ask this question. You already know the answer. I would retire.
"I don't know if you know but I was about to sign for Tottenham a few years ago and I don't know what they did in the end. So I would definitely retire.
"I think I was in St-Etienne at the time, I'm not sure, or maybe in Dortmund. I don't remember exactly.
"I came here, I went to White Hart Lane. The next day they didn't answer, they never called back, so I said to myself, 'Okay, don't worry.' So they know why I play against them with extra motivation every time."
