Record-breaking Italy made football history!

Returning from Switzerland with a draw, Italy became the owner of the longest unbeaten streak in history.

Italy, which was the guest of Switzerland in the World Cup European Qualifications, became the owner of a record that is hard to break even though they could not get three points.

The match, where Jorginho could not benefit from a penalty kick in the 53rd minute, ended with 0-0 equality, and Italy, which increased the undefeated streak to 36 games, buried the 35-match record of Spain and Brazil at the national team level.

Spain's 35-game streak came between 2007 and 2009. The Matadors had reached the top of Europe by winning Euro 2008 on their way to a record.

Brazil's series goes back a bit more. There is also a controversial aspect of the series, which was captured by the South American representative between 1993-1996. According to the Brazilians, this undefeated streak is actually 36 matches, not 35.

The Brazilians want their friendly match against Romanian B team in September 1995 to be counted as well. However, this fight is not included in the series as it is not a FIFA approved match.
