Roberto Mancini: We had a tough match

Italy coach Roberto Mancini made statements after the 3-0 win against Turkey.

Underlining that they left behind a difficult match despite the score, the Italian coach made the following statements: “It was not an easy match. You may think otherwise when you look at the score, but we left behind a difficult match. You need everything in these matches. The support of our fans has helped us. We are happy and I think we performed very well as a team.”

“We had very good ball handling, we were able to turn the ball quickly and we always had an idle player who we could send the ball to. It was very important and satisfying for all Italians to start the tournament well.”

“Turkey is a team composed of players with high technical capacity. We did not give them the opportunity and did not give a position. That was the difference.”

“It was a great evening for us and I hope the tournament continues like this for Italy. Wembley? We still have a long way to go to get there.”
