Robinho's prison sentence upheld

9-year prison sentence of Brazilian football player Robinho for mass sexual assault of a young woman in Italy, by the Milan Court of Appeal

The Milan Court of Appeals upheld the previous conviction of Robinho and his friend Ricardo Falco on sexual harassment charges, the Italian ANSA agency reported.

Robinho was sentenced to 9 years in prison in November 2017 for being involved in gang rape of a young woman at a Milan nightclub while playing in Milan, one of the Serie A teams in 2013.

Robinho, who started his career in the Santos team of his country and paid high testimonials for him for a period, played in Real Madrid, Manchester City, Milan, Guangzhou Evergrande, Atletico Mineiro, Sivasspor and Medipol Başakşehir.

The 36-year-old football player, whose real name was Robson de Souza, finally returned to the Santos team in his country, but left the team after the allegations about this case in Milan.
