Jadon Sancho's performance at Old Trafford, which was transferred from Dortmund for £73m this summer, remains controversial.
Manchester United were eliminated from the League Cup by losing 1-0 to West Ham at Old Trafford, while Sancho, who started the game in the starting 11, was ineffective on the right wing.
Paul Ince, who played for United and England national team for a while, accused Sancho of chasing feints in the offensive zone instead of being involved in the organization.
Speaking to The United Stand, Ince credited Sancho as well as Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial.
“Sancho is still learning, I understand that, but we're not playing FIFA here. It's not all about dribbling and stealing two or three people."
“Yes, these moves look stylish when done well, but Sancho and Lingard need to put the show aside and play proper football.”
“This pisses me off. When you watch players like Ryan Giggs, you see them pass and go two-on-one. They just want to dribble and make stylish moves.”
“I see it in Martial, in Lingard, and in Sancho. They need to learn that it's not all about dribbling. Sometimes by passing, you can reduce a man and enter the penalty area.”
