Steven Gerrard prepares to return to Premier League as Aston Villa manager

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard is expected to replace Dean Smith at Aston Villa.

The English club are looking to replace long-time manager Smith with Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard.

According to the news of Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Aston Villa approached after talks with the English manager.

Gerrard and Aston Villa management are working to clarify details on the technical team.

Villa will also pay his club Rangers a release fee of around £3 million for Gerrard.

Liverpool legend Gerrard has a contract with the Scottish team until 2024.
