Romelu Lukaku's manager Federico Pastorello has revealed that his player has received threats during his transition from Inter to Chelsea.
Transferring to the Premier League club for £98m, Lukaku is gearing up for his second term at Stamford Bridge.
Lukaku, who played the leading role in ending Inter's 11-year championship longing in Serie A, had the most productive season of his career by scoring 24 goals and making 10 assists in 36 games in the league.
In a written statement, Pastorello said that he received outrageous reactions from some Inter fans targeting Lukaku and his family.
“I am always open to constructive criticism and will continue to stay open. For people who are on the agenda of the media, these criticisms are a part of life.”
“However, it is out of the question for us to tolerate lies, insults and threats. These are inappropriate acts that go beyond the boundaries of civilization and morality.”
