UEFA Europa League will be played in Germany

UEFA announced that the 2019-20 season will be played in the 4 League cities of Germany, starting from the quarter-finals.

On the first day of the two-day meeting of the UEFA Board of Directors through video conferencing, topics related to the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Europa League and the 2020 European Football Championship (EURO 2020) were evaluated.

UEFA Europa League, which was postponed in March due to the epidemic, will start again in August with many format changes.

The last 16 rounds of the tournament will be determined by UEFA later, where the rematch matches will be played. These matches will be held at the home side's stadium or in Germany.

The quarter-finals of the tournament will be held on 10-11 August in the stadiums of Cologne, Duisburg, Düsseldorf and Gelsenkirchen in Germany. The last 16 rounds will be played on 5-6 August.

The semi-finals of the tournament will be held on August 16-17, and the final on August 21. UEFA Europa League final, which is planned to be played in Gdansk Stadium in Poland this season, will be held in Cologne Stadium in Germany.

Gdansk Stadium will host the UEFA Europa League final in the 2020-21 season.

Other cities that are planned to host the organization's final will also delay its previous calendar a year later. Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium in Seville, Spain will organize the final of the event in 2022, and the Puskas Arena in Hungary's capital city, Budapest.
